How does the diversified classroom affect instructors?
These drastic changes in demographics within the classroom have a major
implication for instructors. Instructors will be teaching a radically
different student base. Instructors will have to, at some point in their
career, teach to students from a diverse culture or a minority culture
outside of the dominant culture. The ability to work with students from
diverse backgrounds may also become a requirement for hiring in the
future. Diverse students may be children of color and other students
from non-majority cultures, students born outside of the United States
and students who do not have English as the primary language.
