Prejudice
Prejudice is manifested in feelings of anger, fear, hatred and distrust.
It is a prejudgment or assumption made about a person or group of people
before having adequate knowledge to make a judgment. Prejudice is a
cultural attitude that arises from negative stereotypes. All groups have
some members who possess negative stereotypes of others. These
stereotypes can be displayed through actions indirectly and directly.
Nobody is free from the effects of prejudice. In an extreme form, it is
practices through genocide, slavery, legislated discrimination and
disenfranchisement. In a less extreme form, it is displayed through
social exclusion and subtle forms practiced by the media.
