What are dehumanizing biases?
In the past 50 years, our nation has tried to overcome dehumanizing
biases, but it has been a slow process. Dehumanizing biases are
discrimination, racism, sexism, and prejudice. Dehumanizing biases can
lead to the acceptance of the mistreatment of others, emotional and
physical stress, the inequality of power, does not allow people to live
to their fullest potential and can lead to genocide. Dehumanizing biases
impose on the civil rights of all individuals. These dehumanizing biases
can start with stereotypes.
