Discrimination
Discrimination is the treatment or behavior that is given to a person or
group of people based solely on their class or category. It is behavior
and involves exclusion or restriction of members of one group from
opportunities that are available to other groups. Discrimination can be
individual or institutional. Individual discrimination is influenced by
prejudice. Institutional discrimination refers to the inequalities that
have been incorporated into the system-wide operation of society through
